Sharing
Data - Publishing Portfolios
|
|
What is a
Portfolio ? Under normal circumstances data within i-Memorize is encrypted using the users username and password. This means that the data is only available for use by that user. As such export files can only be used within the Realms created by the authoring user. However, in many instances you may wish to share your data with other i-Memorize users. For example, you may wish to share and entire Folder, Drawer, Cabinet, etc. In this instance you will need to create a file which is encrypted in a more general form so that it can be consumed by other i-Memorize users. In order to do this you create a Portfolio file which can then be shared with other users. How to create a Portfolio file: First you must Export the required data from i-Memorize. To do this follow the instructions detailed on Exporting: Once you have exported the data you wish to share, which must consist (in this revision) of an entire Project, Cabinet, Drawer, Folder or Document, you are ready to create the Portfolio File.
This will re-encrypt the Export file to enable it to be used by other i-Memorize users and attach it to an e-mail ready to be sent to your chosen recipient. If your recipient does not have i-Memorize already installed the e-mail will direct him to the i-Memorize site where he will be able to download and install i-Memorize Freedom in order to gain access to the cntents of the i-Memorize Portfolio file you have sent them. |
