Sharing Realm Data - Portfolios

You may, occasionally, wish to share data with other i-Memorize users. This can be beneficial when you not only want to distribute the content of the documents but also the Realm/Project/cabinet/Drawer/Folder structure and notes that go with them.

This can be particularly useful if you are distributing a product catalog or other structured document set.

This function is achieved using i-M Portfolio files.

To create an i-M Portfolio file:

  • First export the hierarchy you wish to encapsulate in an i-M Portfolio file (i.e. export the Project, Cabinet, Drawer, Folder or Document)

  • Display the Root menu by left clicking on the iM-Head icon in the top left of the UI. This will bring up the RootMenu (Fig.1).

  • Select 'Share Realm Data' from this menu and then select 'Publish'

  • This will display the 'Export Selection Panel' (Fig.2). From this panel select the hierarchy level (Realm/Project/Cabinet/Drawer/Folder) and the available export files will be listed.

  • Select the desired Export File and give the Portfolio a name and hit 'OK'

The iM-Portfolio file will be created in the 'Shared-Portfolios' directory in the install location.

Viewing iM-Portfolio Files

iM-Portfolio files created may be viewed by selecting 'Show My Portfolios' on the same menu.

Importing iM-Portfolio Files

Importing iM-Portfolio files is acheived through the same menu. The user is presented with a Directory Search Panel (Fig. 3) to locate the iM-Portfolio file they wish to import.

  • Select the iM-Portfolio file.
  • Select 'OK'

The iM-Portfolio file will be imported to the Exports area of i-Memorize in the Utility panels. This file can then be imported as a normal Export File.
